What Is Trauma?
Individual trauma is defined as an event or circumstance resulting in:
Physical harm,
Emotional harm, and/or
Life-threatening harm.
The event or circumstances has lasting adverse effects on the individual's:
Mental health,
Physical health,
Emotional health,
Social well-being, and/or
Spiritual well-being.
Examples of traumatic events:
Homicide
Assault (sexual/physical)
Domestic Violence
Crimes Against Children
Human Trafficking
Kidnapping
Financial Crimes/Romance Scams
Bank Robberies
Mass Violence Incidents
