Texas Department of Public Safety Wins 2017 Biometric Identification Award

The Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin, Texas, won the FBI’s 2017 Biometric Identification Award for its use of the Next Generation Identification (NGI) System to solve a child pornography investigation by identifying the subject through a picture of a fingerprint seen within a digital pornographic image.

The FBI Biometric Identification Award is presented each year to an outstanding law enforcement officer or agency that has solved a major case using the NGI System.
