FBI Releases Second Installment of LEOKA 2019

Assault data from Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted, 2019 was released earlier this month. In May, the FBI released data on officers killed in the line of duty.

Among the information included in the October release are statistics and narratives on a subset of assault incidents in which firearms, knives, or other cutting instruments were used against officers.

Last year, 56,034 officers were assaulted in the line of duty, and 30.7 percent of those were injured. Most victim officers were assaulted while responding to disturbance calls.

Detailed information can be found in the full report.
